Anthony Fuller

Previous Occupation: Police Officer and Lecturer

Qualified: November 2011

Anthony was already an expert driver and qualifed teacher. Combining the two and becoming a driving instructor made sense, especially since he likes meeting people and enjoys a challenge.

“I chose to join RED as I felt they were progressive and would appeal to youngsters. As someone wishing to train as an ADI and make further professional progress, I think they offer the complete package. I get real job satisfaction and I love seeing my pupils improve their skills, especially those with disabilities and learning needs. I am also earning a good wage.”

RED is particularly impressed with Anthony’s commitment to helping those with disabilities gain confidence. One of his current pupils is Andrew Humphrey, just 17 and has suffered a stroke, received a heart transplant and is paralysed in his left arm. Anthony: “Every lesson, he improves as a driver. His attitude after what he has been through is a lesson to us all and has truly inspired me.”

Anthony attended a special course in London so that he was qualified to instruct someone with a disability. This has helped add to his skills and has enabled him to help Andrew and others with disabilities in his area.
