Soccer AM presenter Tubes passes his driving test with RED Driving School

Soccer AM presenter, Tubes, 34, has just passed his driving test, with RED Driving School.

Tubes, who is known for his hilarious rapping as part of the football-based comedy talk show, has been learning to drive with RED Driving School and passed his driving test yesterday.

Failing his test first time round did not discourage Tubes from achieving his dream of potentially driving to the 2016 UEFA European Championship in France.

He comments: “At the ripe old age of 34 I’ve finally passed. Massive thanks to @REDDriving and @driving_jp getting me through it!”

Tubes’ progress with expert RED Instructor, Jean-Pierre, has been tracked and shown in a monthly YouTube series called ‘TEST TUBES’ on RED Driving School’s YouTube channel. The first lesson takes Tubes back to the experience he had as a teenager: “At 33 I really should be able to drive…I had a few lessons when I was a teenager but didn’t carry it on.” The first episode also features John Barnes offering his ‘advice’ to Tubes.

During his second lesson, while learning how to reverse round a corner, the Soccer AM presenter was accompanied by Mark McGhee, former Scottish professional football player and current assistant manager of the Scottish national team. Succeeding, Tubes learned how to “left emerge and turn left”, in the words of his RED Driving School instructor, Jean-Pierre, in spite of having a rocky start, his third lesson saw Tubes making good progress, maybe due to the ‘encouragement’ coming from the Northern Ireland legend, Kevin Horlock.

After becoming confident enough, the Soccer AM presenter decided to take Andros Townsend for a spin, in the back of a RED Driving School car. However, Townsend didn’t show much enthusiasm about the experience, especially after he witnessed Tubes warming up.
