4x4 Experience | RED Driver Training

Improve your off-road skills with RED’s 4×4 experience

RED provides professional training to numerous commercial organisations and individuals wanting to experience 4×4 off-road driving. With your instructor beside you, they will ensure that you fully enjoy your driving experience as you tackle slopes you wouldn’t believe were possible.

RED’s off-road driving facility provides a challenge for both experienced 4×4 drivers and beginners. This session will provide you with an overview of how the 4×4 works and demonstrate its capabilities. A rough, tough and rugged course will stretch your driving capabilities, but you’ll be stunned at just what these vehicles can do! There will be ruts, hills, side slopes, gullies and all sorts of challenging obstacles to be overcome. A muddy good day out!

What do I need to know?

Minimum age is 16 years
Minimum height is 1.4 metres
Please wear comfortable clothing and a pair of trainers that you will not mind getting dirty
In wet weather a change of clothes is advisable
There will be a maximum of 2 other participants in the vehicle with you
This experience will last approximately 1 ½ hours
All dates are subject to availability

What’s included?

Introduction and safety briefing with a fully trained instructor
Approximately 1 ½ hours off road driving experience in a 4×4, this will include approx. 20 minutes where you will be driving the vehicle yourself

Minimum height: 1.4 metres

Licence Requirements

The 4×4 driving course is suitable for all types of drivers, and because it’s RED-owned, we’re also able to run the course for those who have yet to pass their driving test. But, if that’s the case, we insist that the driver is currently trained to a level where competent with car control. We will need evidence of this from a driving instructor.

Guests

Guests are welcome, but please note that ‘viewing’ of the experience may not be possible due to health & safety and other on-site activities, in which case guests will be able to wait at the reception area or use the ‘public’ café on-site when open.

Our booking process

Buy a 4×4 experience voucher by calling the RED team or by clicking the ‘Book Now’ button to buy online. We’ll then send an e-voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient. Please note, buying an e-voucher online does not secure the 4×4 experience – yourself or the participant can call the team to book the day and time.

The voucher is valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and the experience must be booked before the expiry date.
