Tubes has his first driving lesson with RED
Tubes has had his first driving lesson! Check out some footage from it in the video below.
The popular TV presenter from Soccer AM has taken to the wheel for the first time in a very long while with RED Driving School and his driving instructor, Jean-Pierre, has decided to kick off his training with ‘moving off and stopping’.
Hoping to pass his driving test before the European Championships so that he can follow the Home Nations all the way to France next June, and maintaining a ‘No Pass, No Euros’ policy, Tubes is certain he’s got what it takes.
Despite the lesson getting off to a shaky start with Tubes failing to find the ignition, he managed to pull through and master the stop and start by the end.
John Barnes MBE, England and Liverpool legend, accompanied Tubes on his first lesson and provided assistance along the way.
When asked by Tubes for some advice prior to his lesson to calm his nerves, John, who passed his test on the third time, replied: ‘You should be nervous – I’ve played in World Cups and FA Cup Finals but the most nerve-wracking experience I ever had was learning to drive.’
Barnes then went on to reveal that Liverpool F.C.’s worst driver was Alan Hanson, telling of how he didn’t even know how to change gear so just drove in fourth gear all the time.
